Asphalt is a versatile construction material. Its properties make asphalt ideal for use in road construction, bridges, buildings and hydraulic structures: asphalt is a universal material – flexible, environmentally compatible and reusable.
We have specialised in the field of asphalt testing for over 45 years.

Asphalt testing in accordance with EN 12697 and TP Asphalt – StB (technical testing instructions for asphalt in road construction)

We are accredited in accordance with DIN EN 17025 for testing bitumen. (Download certificate and annex). Testing of binders in accordance with TL Bitumen-StB and TL BE-StB (technical delivery conditions for the supply of bitumen and bitumen emulsions for road construction)

Every year about 430 million tonnes of mineral aggregates are processed into high-quality construction materials. As the specialists in these fields based in northern Germany, we play an important part in the certification of these materials in northern Europe.
We are accredited in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 for aggregate testing.

The frost susceptibility, bearing capacity and degree of compaction of the unbound layers above the subgrade in roads, footways and other trafficked surfaces are crucial to the long-term performance of the works.

We test proposed materials for their suitability (Type testing). We also perform routine and adjudication compliance testing on unbound layers in accordance with TL SoB-StB and ZTV SoB-StB (technical terms and conditions of delivery for unbound layers in road constructions; additional technical conditions and guidelines relating to unbound layers in road constructions).

Suitability, routine and adjudication compliance testing of hydraulically bound materials in accordance with ZTV Beton –StB (Additional technical conditions of contract and directives for the construction of base courses with hydraulic binders and concrete pavements).

The loadbearing capacity of the ground is crucial to the long-term performance of construction works. Our expert and experienced quality assurance team ensures a solid foundation.

Armourstone in accordance with EN 13383-1 and TLW 2003
asphalt-labor is an authorised testing establishment approved by the German Federal Waterways Engineering and Research Institute (BAW) in accordance with “Guidelines for the authorisation of testing establishments of armourstone in waterway engineering” RAP Waba 07 for routine and adjudication compliance testing of:

• Natural armourstone
• Industrially manufactured armourstone
• Recycled armourstone

asphalt-labor is an authorised testing laboratory approved by BASt for the testing of the highway engineering properties and other characteristics of carriageway markings in accordance with ZTV M 13, Levels 1 and 2 (Additional technical conditions of contract and directives for carriageway markings). We check new and existing carriageway markings and their application in accordance with the provisions of ZTV M 13.

Concrete is an important material in road and building construction. Suitability and compliance testing for concrete in accordance with DIN 1045, EN 206, ZTV-Ing and ZTV Beton-StB (Additional technical conditions of contract and directives for the construction of base courses with hydraulic binders and concrete pavements).

We can provide expert and independent assistance both at home and across Europe through our extensive third-party monitoring services. You can rely on our support in the implementation of your projects, including the preparation of comprehensive quality plans.

We prepare detailed recommendations for repair and refurbishment of roads for you based on inspection, logging and assessment reports of the road surface condition and laboratory tests on removed samples.
